Mister Fang (original je sais, tu peux aussi l'appeler Cheng, Tang, Wooyoushirfioukaÿkaÿ, je laisse ça à ta discrétion) is native of the province of Anhui in China. He immigrated towards the USA at the beginning of the 70s during the totalitarisation of the country by Mao Zedong's regime.
Taking refuge at first in Korea, he learnt then more on the various countries having then a bigger opening on the world. Attracted, as many immigrants, by a country promising fortune to hard workers.
On the spot, he collided at first with the ambient racism, he's english was kinda bad, he had to work hard to feed his family and pay some evening classes to be able to learn the local speaking.
A large number of difficult years and meticulous savings later, Mister Fang glimpses finally a possibility for him to go out of the poverty. He has gathers enough capital to acquire a small business in the district, and by the middle of the 80s, he becomes finally his own boss.
Nevertheless it did not mean the end of the difficulties. If financially things were henceforth easier, he had to continue to work hard, with schedules on the verge of the slavery to earn a living, and especially because of an idea: a real will to take advantage of his labour, to manage to take out the head of the water and to live what Kennedy called the "American Dream".
He wanted to show that an immigrant could, even without speaking English, by means of work and will, manage to build up to himself a " perfect life " on the American territory.
Today, the children of mister Fang can go to the faculty. They are not prestigious establishments, but he conceives a certain pride of the fact that his children have access to the higher education thanks to his work.
Of simple immigrant, he lived at first numerous small professions, waiter in a restaurant, roadsweeper, garbage man, agent of maintenance before being able to create his own employment.
Starting then with a small shop, he managed to extend, to enlarge his business by proposing to the local populations China's native products, making discover the culture and the Chinese gastronomy by means of a small grocer's shop of district.
Now he is in the head of a store of 130m² and employs a dozen persons, what of what he is very proud, because as he says, it allows him to give a chance to people who land in the USA as him about 40 years earlier.
As for the future, Mister Fang is serene, he intends to acquire a building on the other side of the city of Detroit where he is installed to implant a second business there, and his projects don't stop here : He well intends "to colonize" the totality of the city.
For Mister Fang, the americain dream, it is not to land and to meet itself as by magic in an idyllic situation, for him the American dream it is sweat, efforts and sometimes tears. But it is also the satisfaction to arrive where he is for the strength of his own will, without owing anything to anybody and knowing that of simple illiterate farmer, here he is a respectable and relatively rich citizen of the USA.
